Why we have Moms...

-So she can fly halfway across the country to hold her newest granddaughter.

-So she can spend half of her trip painting the trim in your dipped-in-khaki duplex white so you're not depressed by the all-encompassing blah.

-So she can make your son feel like he's the coolest kid in the world...cuz he is.

-So she can read the same book to your toddler 27 times (instead of you...this time).

-So she can tell your sweet daughter about the grandfather she won't meet.

-So she can bake you cookies. Twice. And you can single-handedly eat most of the batch. Twice. Double-handedly.

-So you can show her the zoo, the Family Museum, the park, the Walmart, the craft store where you spend most of your days.

-And so she can be excited about it. Even shopping at Walmart, because neither of you has to do it alone this time.

-So she can build Lego creations with your son. More than she ever did with her sons.

-So you can go to bed while she stays up watching "Remington Steele" because your newborn isn't tired.

-So you can sleep in while she gets your toddler dressed & fed.

-So you have someone to talk to and laugh with all day long.

-So you can say good-bye at the airport. And know that you'll never really have to say good-bye.

Thanks, Mom.

Aren't mom's the greatest?

I'm sure little Emily knows all about her grandpa. I'm sure they spent a good amount of time together before her big journey here.

Love you guys!
