Our weekend started off with Sam taking four steps on Friday night. (More details in Steppin' Up.)
Saturday I hit the yard sales while Andrew studied. We finally went to the local farmers' market that we've been so excited about checking out. We got there about 10 minutes before it ended, but we snagged a delicious, and HUGE, cantaloupe; a HUGE, and hopefully equally delicious, watermelon; and a mouthwatering BBQ sirloin sandwich.
We went to a rodeo with some friends. We try to go to at least one rodeo a year to commemorate meeting at the Halloween Rodeo in 2004. We had a lot of fun, but it was pretty rough for the contestants. Only about 10 participants successfully completed their events (most of them in barrel racing).

Check out the street we're on--didn't even plan it!
Sam loves hanging out with Joe & Ashley.
At church, Andrew was sustained as the first counselor in the Young Mens (same calling as in Richmond). He loves working with the guys and is excited to have a calling. Sunday night we had a ward dessert potluck (yum!). It was a lot of fun to get to meet more people in the ward. We are looking forward to being here for two whole years and getting to know people.
Monday we went to Nauvoo with three other couples from the ward. We baby swapped so that we could attend the temple. We enjoyed the day off, and it was so nice to be in the temple.
Sam's favorite part of Nauvoo was the sprinkler in the Relief Society Garden.

Heather- you wear that hat well, honestly. . you could be a rodeo queen! I love that picture of Sam . . he is SUCH a doll!
(great minds think a like!-)
Sam is looking older, but he is still soooo cute! What a fun weekend!!
That family picture is cute. You guys look like you belong right in the rodeo instead of watching it. Sounds like you guys have been having a good time and I'm glad you are feeling at home getting to know your ward. That always makes things so much nicer when you can feel a part of the ward.
I love the rodeo! I also love Sam's cute expression with that sprinkler- he is such a handsome boy.
you are the best! we feel so lucky to have you guys as friends.
It looks like you all had a fun filled weekend! Love the hat Heather!
