Do you ever have those times when it seems like everything happens at once? We had one of those weekends. First, Saturday was Abby's birthday (Andrew's sister). Second, it was Conference weekend. Then, the Monument 10k was on Saturday. Finally, VCOM's Accepted Students' Day (orientation) was scheduled on Saturday. We ended up having to skip the 10k in favor of the others.
We drove up to Blacksburg on Friday night. The day at VCOM was a lot of fun. We got to know some of the other students and families. Sam was definitely the favorite. A lot of moms were there and absolutely loving his smiling little face. One even suggested a townhouse to rent so that we would live close to her so she could babysit!
We came right home after, in time for Abby's barbecue party. (Funny thing, we got her present, wrapped and everything, before we left town on Friday. We forgot to bring it to her until the next week.) After the party, Andrew went to the priesthood session and, while Sam took a nap, I gave myself a manicure and pedicure!!
Sunday, we enjoyed brunch with Andrew's family, then went to the Stake Center for Conference. I really enjoyed hearing from the men and women who have been called to lead us. We had dinner and games back at Andrew's parents house.
Abby and her sweet birthday ice cream cake from Evan.
